Call for Papers: GDS Herbsttagung 2026
On 19 November 2026, the Berlin regional group of the German Data Science Society hosts its autumn conference at Google Berlin’s AI Innovation Hub, Tucholskystraße. Single track, around 60 participants from industry, startups and research.
We are looking for talks from practitioners: honest field reports with numbers on benefits and limits, no product demos and no sales pitches. We give preference to speakers from Berlin and the surrounding area, as the conference is also meant to strengthen the local community. English is the preferred language for talks.
Topic clusters- GenAI and agentic security. Shadow AI as an entry point, securing agentic systems, trust architecture.
- Agents in production: governance, safety, observability. Guardrails in the infrastructure rather than in the prompt, auditability, monitoring.
- Agents at work. What agents actually deliver today, based on concrete use cases.
- From pilot to production. Why AI projects get stuck in the pilot stage: scaling, measuring value, enterprise readiness.
- Tabular foundation models. Foundation models beyond language, applied to tabular enterprise data.
- Open source and open models. Open, EU-compliant models as a European path.
- Conference talk within a topic block, 20 minutes plus questions
- Lightning talk, 15 minutes
- Seat on the moderated startup panel on data, data science and GenAI (35 minutes of discussion)
Submissions by 15 September 2026, including title, abstract (max. 1,500 characters), preferred cluster, format, name, organisation, role and a short bio (max. 400 characters).
We will respond by 30 September 2026.

Wir suchen Beiträge aus der Praxis: ehrliche Werkstattberichte mit Zahlen zu Nutzen und Grenzen, keine Produktdemos und keine Sales-Pitches. Beiträge aus Berlin und Umgebung bevorzugen wir, weil die Tagung auch die lokale Community stärken soll. Vortragssprache ist vorzugsweise Englisch.

- Agents in Produktion: Governance, Safety, Observability. Leitplanken in der Infrastruktur statt im Prompt, Auditierbarkeit, Monitoring.
- Agents im Einsatz. Was Agents heute wirklich leisten, mit konkreten Anwendungsfällen.
- Von der Pilotphase in die Produktion. Warum KI-Projekte im Piloten stecken bleiben: Skalierung, Wertmessung, Enterprise Readiness.
- Tabular Foundation Models. Foundation Models jenseits der Sprache, angewandt auf tabellarische Unternehmensdaten.
- Open Source und offene Modelle. Offene, EU-konforme Modelle als europäischer Weg.
- Fachvortrag im Themenblock 20 Minuten plus Fragen
- Impuls 15 Minuten
- Teilnahme am moderierten Startup-Panel zu Data, Data Science und GenAI (35 Minuten im Gespräch)
Einreichung bis 15. September 2026 mit Titel, Abstract (maximal 1.500 Zeichen), gewünschtem Cluster, Format, Name, Organisation, Rolle und Kurzbio (maximal 400 Zeichen).
